The outstanding works selected for the '2026 ANBD Regular Exhibition' creatively reinterpret the diverse and rich cultures and traditions of participating countries in response to the theme “Co-Creating Asian Futures.” These works demonstrate how art and design can bring together diverse Asian cultural identities, harmonizing shared aesthetic values with the distinctive characteristics and traditions of each culture. Furthermore, they explore how traditional values and technological advancements can coexist and evolve in harmony, fostering social responsibility and envisioning a more sustainable future. Through these works, the exhibition highlights the potential of art and design to bridge cultural heritage and technological innovation while creating new possibilities for a shared Asian future.

Gang, Chunming

In this design competition, I applied balanced review principles - weighing creativity, design value, completeness, and expressiveness - while also considering whether each work understood the exhibition theme and expressed it well through appropriate design language. Rather than judging different media by a single standard, I evaluated each work on its own terms: how well it used its medium's strengths, and whether its visual language, content logic, and details came together coherently. Among the selected works, some stood out for fresh concepts, others for detail, narrative, or emotional depth - a testament to the growing richness of the ANBD design exhibition. ANBD clearly has the capacity to inspire more works rooted in life, guided by independent thinking, and emotionally resonant with viewers. I look forward to ANBD becoming a window for observing the world, expressing ideas, and creating value - a home for interdisciplinary, cross-media works that push beyond existing boundaries.

Hou, ChunChun

It was a pleasure to serve as a judge for the 2026 ANBD Regular Exhibition. Across the submissions I looked for a clear idea, craft that serves that idea, and a visual language that is both rooted and current. The overall standard was high, which made the final selection difficult. In choosing twenty works I gave more weight to the originality of the concept than to technical display. Many entries reinterpret traditional sources through digital processes, and the ones I selected are those in which the technique never overwhelms the content. I also valued restraint. A work that resolves a single idea completely is more persuasive than one that shows everything it is capable of, and control of composition and colour is often what separates the two. What unites my selections is that willingness to edit. I hope the results encourage younger designers to pursue depth rather than spectacle, and I thank every participant for the seriousness of their work.

Ishii, Toshiwo

Overall, a large number of the works submitted this year featured a light artistic style. This is likely due in significant part to the widespread influence of various digital technologies in recent times. As a result, stylistic differences between countries have diminished, perhaps allowing the works to be described as truly international in character.

Jeon, Seunghyouk

The selected works were evaluated on how effectively they visually express the themes of “co-creation,” “Asia,” and “the future” without relying on explanation. Particular attention was given to composition, use of space, scale, rhythm, and visual hierarchy, as well as to how color, form, materials, typography, and illustration contribute to a coherent visual identity. We also valued originality and contemporary relevance, especially works that move beyond conventional images of Asia to present new visions of its future. Finally, we considered whether the works communicate across different cultural and national backgrounds, encouraging dialogue, imagination, and engagement with the future.

When creative works and designs integrate artistic composition with the creator's creativity, they produce interesting and unique pieces. Ultimately, I sincerely hope that the works exhibited in the ANBD 2026 exhibition will have the opportunity to showcase their communicative potential, allowing viewers to perceive and appreciate them through a multifaceted artistic language.

The selection criteria focused on creative ideas, storytelling, originality of expression, and color composition. Particular attention was given to how well each work interpreted the theme and translated it into a compelling visual form. Through this exhibition, diverse perspectives and cultural sensibilities were brought together in harmony, reaffirming ANBD's vision of unity and exchange across Asia. I look forward to seeing ANBD continue to grow as a meaningful platform that connects Asian design cultures and inspires a promising future.

The present exhibition brings together a body of works remarkable for their stylistic diversity and expressive novelty. From minimalist geometric compositions and science-fiction tableaux to the deployment of special visual effects, playful illustration, and intricate material textures, the works on view attain an exceptionally high standard. At the same time, they abound in conceptual inventiveness and in the deft use of metaphor to address a wide range of themes. Viewed as a whole, the selected works distinguish themselves in manifold ways: some mark a breakthrough in technical execution, others conjure strikingly original imagery, and still others are distinguished by the refinement of their underlying ideas—while a number achieve a balanced excellence across all of these dimensions. Within the contemporary discourse of aesthetics, whether in pictorial structure, form and color, or technological innovation, each work reflects the creator's personal experience, artistic formation, and singular vision of the world. It is precisely these qualities that have constituted the core criteria by which I have made my selections.

The ANBD 2026 Exhibition impressively captures the theme "Co-Creating Asian Futures" by harmonizing traditional Asian heritage with modern technological innovation. The submitted works thoughtfully address global challenges such as digital and social transformation , demonstrating how local cultural identity can expand into a global artistic dialogue. We highly commend the artworks that outstandingly combine aesthetic excellence, creative expression, and a shared vision for sustainable growth.

The selection of artworks for the “Co-Creative Asian Futures” exhibition highlighted a diverse range of inspiring art and design. The evaluation focused on harmony, balance, form, line, color, shape, and the effective integration of visual elements across two-dimensional, three-dimensional, and mixed-media works. Particular emphasis was placed on aesthetic unity, conceptual meaning, and creativity. I sincerely hope that ANBD 2026 will provide a meaningful platform for people from diverse cultures and backgrounds to experience, appreciate, and enjoy creative works that reflect different perspectives while inspiring connections toward a shared Co-Creative Asian Futures.

SOLO Exhibition

1. If you would like to have a solo exhibition, please submit your work data to the exhibition regions. Even if a solo exhibitor is unable to participate in the exhibition, the exhibition region office will print and display the artworks. If a solo exhibitor has problems on printing or displaying their works, the regional representative should contact the representative hosting the exhibition.

2. In case of Solo exhibition of Regular Exhibition, the fees vary by region. If a solo exhibitor cannot participate in the exhibition, artist may incur a printing fee. This fee can also be sent to each region’ office.
